Add CAPTCHA field to forms

The MailChimp for WordPress plugin comes with various anti-spam measures, most of which are invisible to users filling in your sign-up forms. If you still have spam signups slipping trough, one solution that does not require a captcha is to install the WPBruiser plugin, which we highly recommend.

However, sometimes this just is not enough. Especially when you have double opt-in disabled in your form settings, bots may find their way through the spam filters.

By far the most effective way to stop these bots from subscribing is by adding a CAPTCHA field to your sign-up forms.

To do this, take the following steps.

1. Install & activate the following two plugins

2. Then, add `{captcha}` to your sign-up form where you want the CAPTCHA field to appear.

Example form mark-up

{captcha}

That's all there is to it! The plugin will automatically validate the given CAPTCHA value and show a customizable error message whenever the captcha field is not correctly filled.
